He will not talk about the Argentine situation and will defend libertarian ideas

On Wednesday from 11:50 to 12:15 Argentine time the president will have his speech at the World Economic Forum and will be presented to the audience by the head of the Forum, Klaus Schwab.

This medium was able to learn that the president’s speech ““He will not talk about Argentina” since it will be a theoretical presentation with data, which will include four chapters.

The head of state will refer to the numbers that reflect the “impressive” development that the emergence of capitalism meant in the last 200 years.

It plans to present the evolution of the world’s gross product over the past 2,000 years in a graph in which it is observed that, after 1,800 years of practically vegetative growth, the world experiences a sharp jump in production and well-being – with a marked reduction of poverty – after the industrial revolution.

will refer to an explanation of the liberal libertarian model to which the president adheres. He will start with his definition of liberalism and will refer to institutions.

The first president will address “the neoclassical dilemma and the socialist advance.” In this section he will explain the problem of increasing returns, neoclassical inconsistency and how state intervention results in lower growth and progress in socialism.

It will refer to “other socialist vices that impoverish.” In this sense, it will make reference to other post-Marxist ideas, such as the 2030 Agenda, “which lead to intervention and can end up destroying the world”as far as he could know Ambit.

He will criticize the 2030 Agenda

In relation to the 2030 agenda, and in assessments that will surely spark controversy, Milei questions “the methods to achieve the objectives”, since, in his opinion, “the tools they propose curtail freedoms and, far from achieving the objectives, produce the opposite result,” supports those close to him.

It is worth remembering that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved in September 2015 by the United Nations General Assemblyestablishes a transformative vision towards the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the 193 Member States of the United Nations that subscribed to it.

Among other points, it contemplates eradicating hunger and achieving food security; guarantee a healthy life and quality education; achieve gender equality; ensure access to water and energy; promote sustained economic growth; adopt urgent measures against climate change; promote peace and facilitate access to justice.

“World leader of freedom”

With a speech with strong political content, the president wants to take advantage of the opportunity to “position yourself as a world leader of freedom”, as he told those close to him. With this conception, he considers that the Argentine case becomes anecdotal and that in any case “It will be a topic that will be talked about in the hallways” of the Davos meeting.

Javier Milei has aroused international interest since he is a political leader who was voted in promising a severe adjustment and the unrestricted defense of market freedom, a situation that caused more than 60 hearing requests. However, the President made the decision to attend only to give his speech and hold a meeting that same day with the head of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva. Although, an informal conversation with some leaders and/or international personalities in the corridors of the Forum is not ruled out.

Businessmen

Those who will try to satisfy the interest that Milei’s government arouses will be both the head of ministers, Nicolás Posse as the head of the Treasury Palace, Luis Caputo.

In this regard, it was officially reported that the chief of staff plans to hold meetings with directors and representatives of the firms Glencore, MSD Merck, Total Energies and Amazon. He will also participate in the conference Media Leaders Briefing with the Argentine presidential delegation at the Congress Centre, Media Village and, later, will attend the dinner organized at the Ice Rink, Ice Village.

His presence in Davos will conclude with a meeting with directors of LDC Dreyfus, which will also be attended by ministers Luis Caputo and Diana Mondino.

Meanwhile, the Economy Minister’s agenda will begin on Tuesday afternoon when he will accompany the Chief of Staff, Nicolás Posse, in the meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva and technicians from the entity.

The minister will present the panel on Wednesday “Country strategy dialogue on Argentina” on the main guidelines of the economic program.

He will also join the meeting that Posse will have with the CEO of Glencore, Gary Nagle; with the president of Human Health International of MSD Merck, with Joseph Romanelli and Amazon’s Vice President of International Public Policy, Michael Punk.

He will also meet with the president of Banco BTG, André Esteves and will participate in a panel on “LATAM economic realism”, in which the debt in Latin America and the consequent fiscal pressures will be discussed. It will be part of the work dinner “Accessing LATAM” in which there will be dialogue about the development agenda, technology and artificial intelligence in the region.
