The key to generating more investment and work is in the reforms promoted by the Government

The official spoke with leading businessmen of gastronomic chains about the economic reforms promoted by the national government.

The Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, held a meeting with the director of the firm Alsea Global, Armando Torradoand its pair for South America, Santiago Farinati. “Due to the multiple labor and tax obstacles, it is much easier for companies to invest in other countries in the region rather than in Argentina,” the minister detailed.

“Due to the already problematic labor and tax restrictions, the company is growing in Argentina at a rate of 4 stores per year, while in the rest of the region they double or triple their expansion plan,” Francos noted.

Starbucks and Burger King employ 7,000 workers in 134 locations

In Argentina, there are 134 Starbucks stores and 119 Burger King stores, which employ 7,000 workers. At the regional level, the company has 700 stores and 14 thousand employees.

The estimated investment figure for each Burger King location is around $1.2 million, while for each Starbucks location it is around $850,000.

“If we had lower fiscal and labor costs, let’s imagine the impact that the amount of investments that could be carried out would have for the country,” Francos stressed.

“For this reason, we emphasize the importance of the reforms promoted by the national government: they are the key to generating more investment and more work,” he concluded.
