The Ministry of Economics will expand the number of recipients of preferential loans

The Ministry of Economics will adjust the program of concessional lending to SMEs No. 1764, setting target values for the quantitative coverage of companies for banks. Deputy Minister of Economic Development Tatiana Ilyushnikova told Izvestia about this.

“Now banks included in the 1764 program will issue soft loans, focusing not only on the volumes of issuance established by the national project, but on the number of companies actually covered by support,” she said.

According to the Deputy Minister, the new rules will increase the availability, quantitative coverage and targeting of support for SMEs.

The adjustments in the 1764 program will also oblige banks to ensure that all borrowers are widely informed about the conditions of preferential programs on the home pages of their websites, through push notifications and other channels, and in addition, they will limit the imposition of additional services when accessing government support measures.

Tatiana Ilyushnikova also said that now banks will monitor the borrower’s compliance with the program criteria throughout the entire loan period, and not only check it at the time of contacting the bank.

“If the borrower ceases to meet the requirements, for example, loses the status of an SME or a tax resident of the Russian Federation, goes bankrupt or is 25% in a large holding structure, then he will be excluded from the program,” the deputy minister explained.
