In the midst of the inflationary acceleration, the Banking Association (AB) and the business chambers of the sector agreed this Thursday in joint negotiations a salary update of 23.2% retroactive to December 1st based on the income of that month of 2022the union reported.
Regarding the result of the assets of December 2023, Bankers will receive another 20% advance this month, so the initial salary of a worker (income plus participation in profits) will be just over 904,000 pesos, confirmed the general and press secretaries, Sergio Palazzo and Claudio Bustelo.
The union leaders reported in a document representing the General Secretariat of the union that the agreement was reached in “the continuity of the joint negotiation, as had been determined in the minutes signed on December 14.”
An update of 23.2 percent retroactive to the 1st of that month will be incorporated into the salaries of bank workers from last December based on income from December 2022, and will be applied to all “conventional and non-conventional remuneration and additional benefits” that the staff perceives of the activity.
Furthermore, on the basis resulting from last December, staff will receive another 20% increase in advance for this monthalso on all conventional and non-conventional remunerations and additional benefits, they reported.
Minimum initial salary for bankers: $904,357.68
In this way, the minimum initial salary of a bank worker, plus participation in profits (ROE), will be in January 904,357.68 pesos, taking into account an income of 865,277.01 pesos and another 39,080.67 pesos for that tax.
“The increase for the month of January is in advance, since if inflation exceeds that 20% it will be adjusted automatically, so financial entities must in that case apply the corresponding retroactive salary difference”they explained.
Palazzo and Bustelo also pointed out that the salary agreement reached demonstrated “Once again, the Bank continues to fight permanently for the real income of workers, safeguarding and improving their purchasing power,” they concluded.
The union also ratified the strike and mobilization of the 24th of this month towards Congress in rejection of the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) and the “Bases” Law that the Government sent to Parliament, and also repudiated the possibility that the Executive decides to privatize the Banco de la Nación Argentina (BNA) and its related companies BICE and Casa de Moneda.
