José Urtubey: Regularizing the international situation in financial terms is essential for Argentina to begin to regularize its macroeconomic situation. Q .: How do you analyze the government’s work in terms of negotiations? Do you think it should be closed as soon as possible?
J.U.: They are surely not minor considerations. I believe that we are on time, but the terms are also beginning to approach for the convenience of Argentina to fix it.
Q .: Are you concerned about some macroeconomic aspects?
J.U.: Based on this, it is also important, in a way out of the pandemic where almost 10 points of economic growth were recovered, the foundations are started to give competitiveness in other aspects: from the fiscal and financial aspects. J.U.: At the beginning of the year we estimated that we would be growing by 6% compared to last year. And we are going to end the year with growth close to 10%. This shows that the recovery that occurred is interesting. Now the challenge is maintaining this. To maintain it, I mean to continue on a growth path, we have, among other things, to terminate the agreement with the Monetary Fund.
Q .: That is why the statement, in which businessmen from different sectors highlighted the need to reach an agreement?
J.U.: We had done something similar with private creditors. It is a group of businessmen from different fields and sectors, with whom we have been working, analyzing and thinking about this situation. And we thought it appropriate to issue the statement. We are a group of businessmen who are and will be in the country through thick and thin, because I believe that Argentina deserves that we are all committed.
