This price increase occurs because the company Massalin Particulares, which manages the main cigarette brands in the country such as Marlboro, Philip Morris, Chesterfield and Harmony, decided to increase the price of its products by 30%. It is the company’s first price increase in 2024, since the last one, which was on December 15 with 24%.


If the increases in both months are added, Massalin cigarettes increased 54% on average.

“Omnibus law”: the Government wants to raise the tax on cigarettes
