France’s farmers want to expand their protest and increase the pressure on the government. Arnaud Rousseau, head of the agricultural union FNSEA, announced on France 2 that there should be protests in around 85 of the 100 French departments by Friday. Farmers would carry on and not back down.
Farmers in France have been blocking highways for days. They protest against falling revenues, European environmental regulations and standards that they believe are getting out of hand. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal is in talks with various agricultural organizations. President Emmanuel Macron had announced concrete solutions to the difficulties faced by farmers.
