The MDax fell by 0.41 percent to 26,033.60 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 fell by 0.08 percent.

After the Ifo business climate index in the morning, the ECB’s key interest rate decision will be the highlight in the early afternoon. There is unlikely to be any change in the monetary policy direction. Most banking economists expect key interest rates to remain stable. It would be the third time in a row that the ECB has stuck to its course. The focus is therefore primarily on statements about the outlook.
