The German leading index was 0.21 percent lower at 16,871.91 points in the morning compared to the previous day’s close. This means that it remains somewhat distant from the record high, which was recently reached at a good 17,000 points. On a weekly basis, the DAX still rose by 1.9 percent.

While the MDax fell by 0.52 percent to 25,939.67 points on Friday, the EuroStoxx did better. The euro zone’s leading index rose by 0.4 percent.

The technology sector, which had provided a boost in the middle of the week, faced some headwind at the end of a strong stock market week. Weak Asian stock markets were also seen as a burden.
