Daniela Lorenzer was appointed chief financial officer of the company in October 2023, and Maik Spindler was appointed head of sales in January. Schwarzmüller announced these changes in a press release today, Monday.
Lorenzer, who came from Magna, and Spindler, who has management experience in the commercial vehicle industry, follow Michael Hummelbrunner and Wolfgang Köster.
Hummelbrunner and Köster were brought in in March 2023 by Thomas Biringer, who succeeded the long-time chairman of the Schwarzmüller management, Roland Hartwig. This was a result of the realignment of Schwarzmüller owner Beate Paletar, who bought 50 percent of the shares from the children of her cousin Manuela Hasenberger-Schwarzmüller.
As reported, Schwarzmüller experienced 2022 as a “year of extremes”. High costs, supply chain problems, old order backlogs and one-off effects led to a negative result. According to Biringer, last year should be in the black again; the Innviertel company did not disclose any details.
Sales in the previous year amounted to 390 million euros, after 446 million the year before. 7,600 trailers were built. The number of employees was 2,150 in 2022.
