After the previous day’s moderate losses, the German stock market has regained some ground. The increase follows developments in the USA, where the Dow Jones Industrial and S&P 500 indices reached new highs on Monday. Falling yields on the bond markets gave a boost to stock prices there.

The DAX rose to 16,999 points in the first few minutes of trading, only 4 points below its record high from mid-December. Most recently, the leading index was up 0.28 percent at 16,988.31 points. The MDax gained 0.25 percent to 26,167.57 points. The EuroStoxx, the leading index for the Eurozone, rose by around 0.2 percent.
