The program Simple Feewhich will replace Now 12will come into effect from tomorrow until next May 31, with the aim of promoting consumption by providing the possibility of financing purchases in three and six fixed installments -with the 12, 18 and 24 installments– with bank credit cards and “with the lowest rate on the market”, highlighted by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce secretary.

One of the modifications of Simple Fee is that it will only offer modalities of three and six installments, discontinuing those of 12, 18 and 24 installments.

“In the framework of the policies promoted by andl Ministry of Economy, through which a Stabilization Plan is promoted to end the fiscal deficit and carry out aderegulation of the economy that frees the productive forces from the weight of the State, it is timely and convenient distortions that the program may imply“, argues the resolution on the elimination of these quota options.

Furthermore, according to the predecessor program background (Now 12), the three and six installments are the most chosen by consumers, totaling 80% of transactions, so it was agreed to opt for these terms.

The measure arises as a result of the work shared between the BCRA, banking institutions and the Commerce areawith the objective of promoting economic development, encouraging productive investment and the demand for goods and services through the granting of payment facilities in fixed installments.

With Simple Fee, whose scope will be nationwide and It will be available every day of the week in participating physical and virtual stores, consumers will be able to make their purchases in installments within a universe that covers 30 categories of nationally manufactured products, including white goods, clothing, footwear and leather goods; 4G cell phones, furniture, bicycles, motorcycles, educational services, mattresses and books.

It will also cover glasses and contact lenses; stationery, toys and board games; technical services for electronics and home appliances; tires, CNG vehicle conversion kits, car and motorcycle spare parts, musical instruments and computers, notebooks and tablets.

Likewise, lighting items, televisions and monitors will be included; perfumery, small household appliances, sports preparation services, medical equipment, machinery and tools; cultural shows and events; durable kitchen items; car and motorcycle repair services; and kits for home connection to public water and sewer services.

Simple quota: what items were left out

On the other hand, they are left out of the program Simple Fee the items of materials and tools for construction (with products such as cement, bricks, sheet metal, openings, paint, pipes and ceramics), as well as tourism (tickets, accommodations and travel packages), spas, personal care (hairdressers and centers aesthetics) and alarm installation services.

Meanwhile, in the motorcycle category, the maximum price of covered products is raised for the program to $1,300,000; glasses and contact lenses at $97,000; medical equipment at $1,160,000; and shows and cultural events at $62,000.

The Commerce resolution established the replacement of various articles of resolution 282/2021 that approved the Now 12 Regulation, modifying the name of the program, adapting it to the new credit card terms implemented in DNU 70/2023, and discontinuing some goods and services previously covered by Ahora 12 “that show little impact within the program”, according to the recitals of the official text.

In the same way, The labels that must be placed by participating businesses are replaced with the new name of the program, and the modification in the institutional image and colors of the national Government.

The recitals also point out that the extension of the program is a product of su “importance as an effective tool in the current economic crisis.”

Only last NovemberNow 12 included sales of $477,349 million in 6.4 million operations with an average ticket of $74,223.

Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of last year, accumulated sales totaled $3,429,707 million in 70.7 million operations.

The latter were especially focused on the city (32%) and the province of Buenos Aires (30%), followed by Santa Fe (9%), Córdoba (8%), Mendoza (3%) and Tucumán (3%).
