German company bosses often find it difficult to take a political stance. Just don’t alienate anyone, just don’t offer a target, no matter in which direction. After the mass demonstrations against the AfD, some of the most important business leaders ventured out of cover last week: SAP boss Christian Klein, Volkswagen and Porsche boss Oliver Blume, the former Douglas and current Weleda boss Tina Müller and Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel positioned themselves in star – alongside numerous other celebrities – offensively against right-wing extremism and xenophobia.
