The electronics retailer has agreed a partnership with Uber. From April onwards, online customers in many large cities will be able to have goods delivered to their homes within a short time.
From April onwards, Media Markt and Saturn customers who are in a hurry can have charging cables, headphones, laptops or kitchen appliances delivered to their home within 90 minutes. A corresponding offer is to be introduced in collaboration with the logistics service provider Uber Direct. This was announced by the electronics retailer MediaMarktSaturn. The “Lebensmittel Zeitung” had previously reported.
The delivery should cost 4.99 euros, products with a total weight of up to 23 kilograms or with the maximum dimensions of 100 x 60 x 60 centimeters can be delivered. Customers can initially have the goods delivered from around 200 Media Markt and Saturn stores in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf and other larger German cities.
Uber’s delivery service was integrated into MediaMarktSaturn’s digital channels. The ordered goods are then picked up by an Uber driver in the respective store and then delivered. According to the company, all around 400 branches of the two electronics markets will be connected by the end of 2024.
MediaMarktSaturn has had a partnership with the delivery service Lieferando since last year. He delivers items from electronics stores to customers in Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig. You can order via the Lieferando app or website. Depending on the market and delivery distance, the delivery time is between 40 and 60 minutes.
