The proposal for the new scheme is based on the adoption of both inclusion and exclusion criteria.

The Government revealed the fundamental parameters that will govern the implementation of a new subsidy scheme for gas and electricity. The focus now will incorporate criteria linked to family income, possession of assets and the adoption of a Basic Energy Basket (CBE) that will cover aspects such as consumption and the bioclimatic zone.

The new scheme proposal is based on the adoption of both inclusion and exclusion criteria. Furthermore, it contemplates the application of a CBE that will specify the minimum consumption levels necessary to guarantee the subsistence of various family groups in different regions, months of the year and supply modalities.

The central objective is to calculate the public resources that will be allocated to direct subsidies and determine the precise number of beneficiaries under this renewed scheme. The Ministry of Energy anticipates that the allocation of subsidies will be carried out considering the household as the unit where a person or group of people who share expenses resides. Consequently, the sum of income and assets of the cohabitants will be evaluated.

To carry out this comprehensive evaluation, a cross-check of information will be carried out that will cover aspects such as retirements and pensions, non-contributory pensions, electrodependents, social programs, independent employment, dependent employment, real estate, boats, automobiles, motorcycles and aircraft.

This multifaceted approach will allow ua more precise and equitable allocation of subsidiesensuring that those who need it most are the primary beneficiaries of this government energy support.

How to know if the subsidy applies to the electricity and gas rate

  • Exclusion criteria:
