Food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 2.1% monthly versus 3.4% in October, with slowdown in almost all items, influenced by the Care Prices program. There was even deflation in specific products such as rice, table bread, and fresh milk.

The exception was Meats, with double-digit increases in some cuts, given the impact of increases in the price of beef.

Restaurants and hotels was the only division that accelerated its inflation rate and led the increases for the month (5% vs. 4.1% in October), followed by Clothing and footwear (4.1% vs. 5.1% in October). “It is a product of the opening of the post-pandemic and the protection that some sectors enjoy, which allows them to increase prices above the average,” commented economist Jorge Neyro.

The Seasonal products increased only 0.5% monthly, compared to 8.1% in October, with sharp drop in vegetable prices – in the GBA the fall was -11.8% per month – and for lower increases compared to September for Fruits and Clothing.
