The expansion of photovoltaic capacities is happening faster than the power lines and substations can tolerate. In 2023, 40 percent more PV systems were installed than in 2022, namely 25,600 with 480 MW output. A lack of network capacity is the reason why there were feed-in stops in seven regions in December of the previous year (we reported). As Netz OÖ announced today, Monday, the restrictions could be lifted in two regions (Ranshofen and Steyr-Nord): The reason is that large systems there have been withdrawn by their operators. It is said that the connection of new systems can be applied for there as normal until further notice.
A new restriction has been added
A new restriction has been added with the Arthurwerk substation in Salzburg. The restrictions currently apply to the Arthurwerk, Grieskirchen, Kirchdorf, Klaus, Rohrbach and Rossbach substations. Only new systems that are requested, planned and built by the network operator are affected. These can temporarily only be operated for self-supply until the network construction work is completed. Netz OÖ emphasizes that the measures involve a temporary postponement of network access. For the most part, it is expected that the renovation work will be completed by the end of the year.
