The Commerce secretary suspended its intervention on the evaluation of Technical Regulations of two key industries such as aluminum and steel. Furthermore, it departs from a dumping investigation in exports of aluminum sheets from China.

As recorded by the secretariat, there is an absence of Certification Bodies as well as Laboratories with testing capacity for the entire range of products involved in the regulations in question. “It is necessary to highlight that these organizations are configured as essential actors for the implementation of the previously mentioned regulations,” the letter developed. For this reason, they decided to postpone compliance with those regulations until they had the appropriate infrastructure.
It is important to clarify that the measure will be temporary nature and that the competent legal service intervened in the dumping case.
