In the framework of the usual meetings, The UIA Board of Directors addressed various issues such as prospects for 2022, according to projections at the international, regional and national levels. The sectoral and regional representatives carried out an analysis of the evolution of the activity, of the prospects for the last month of 2021 – based on the impact of logistics costs and the increase in freight – and of the projections for 2022.
According to the Center for Studies between January and September, the industry accumulated a growth of 17.7% year-on-year and 6.8% compared to 2019, a less anomalous year since it did not have a pandemic. In the accumulated of 2021, it was observed that, of the 12 sectors that make up the index, 8 of them had increases compared to 2019.
Durable goods, automotive, non-metallic minerals, chemicals, rubber, plastics, and tobacco stand out here. Also some segments of food, beverages, metalworking, paper and cardboard. Within the framework of the meeting, the president of the manufacturing plant, Daniel Funes de Rioja, reported on the institutional activities of the last weeks.
