The Ministry of Energy presented a series of criteria that could be used to remove subsidies.
The Government plans to incorporate more conditions so that users can apply for state coverage that applies to part of the electricity and gas ratesamong which are the restrictions for those who buy Dollarstravel abroad or have prepaid medicine coverage.
However, some doubts began to arise. For example: does it include those who buy dollar savings, the MEP or both? In principle, It is known to include both buyers in the last three months, because consumption in virtual wallets will also be studied.
According to the Ministry of Energy, with a view to to the implementation of a new segmentation diagram of subsidies and the determination of the Basic Energy Basket, published more consultation documents that will serve as support for the proposals that it will present to apply in the new regime.
Energy subsidies: who could stop accessing them
The consultation material available on the website of the area commanded by Eduardo Rodríguez Chirillo specified new criteria that “could be taken into consideration for rejection or exclusion of the benefit”, which now include users who have purchased dollars or any foreign currency in the last 3 months, those who traveled more than once to non-neighboring countries in the last 5 years, and those who holders of prepaid medicine that is not linked to employment in a dependency relationship.
Furthermore, it also They would remove subsidies from those users who pay the equivalent of more than 25% of a minimum wage for cell phones, value that from March will be $50,700, on the amount that will be updated to $202,800. The same will happen with those who have consumption on credit cards or virtual wallets exceeding five minimum wages, which from next month will mean $1,014,000.
These criteria for limiting state aid are added to others detailed above, such as the one known days ago of owning a car or motorcycle less than 5 years old or two vehicles less than 10 years old.
Other heritage aspects that the Government will consider, based on the voluntary declaration of users or by crossing multiple databases, are the ownership of aircrafts, luxury boats or for recreational purposes, the ownership of at least two properties, luxury or collectible cars and membership on the board of directors or ownership of a private company. Possible criteria to be taken into consideration for the rejection or exclusion of the subsidy, if any of the members of the cohabiting group present:
- Ownership of an aircraft.
- Ownership of a luxury boat or for recreational purposes.
- Full ownership of two or more properties.
- Ownership of at least one car less than 5 years old or two cars less than 10 years old.
- Ownership of at least one luxury or collectible automobile regardless of its registered age.
- Ownership of prepaid medicine not linked to employment in a dependency relationship (total or by referral).
- More than one trip to non-neighboring countries in the last 5 years.
- Membership on the board of directors or being the owner of a private company (IGJ).
- Credit card consumption exceeding five Minimum Living and Mobile Wages (SMVM).
- Purchase of foreign currency in at least one of the last three months.
- Consumption in virtual wallets exceeding five Minimum Living and Mobile Wages (SMVM).
- Mobile phone consumption greater than 25% of the Minimum Living and Mobile Wage (SMVM).
