The unemployment rate was 7.6 percent at the end of February, compared to 7.0 percent a year earlier. The number of employed people was 3,928,000 – an increase of around 7,000 people compared to the previous year.

“Unemployment is falling seasonally; compared to the previous year, however, the labor market situation is similar to a month ago. The unemployment rate is currently slightly higher than at the end of February 2023, but at the end of February 2024 more people are in employment than in the previous year,” said the Minister of Labor and Economic Affairs Martin Kocher in a broadcast on Friday.
