Through resolution No. 232/24 of the Ministry of Infrastructure of the province of Buenos Aires, users of the public health service provided by the concessionaire Aguas Bonaerenses SA (ABSA) were summoned to a public hearing to be held on April 8 at 11 in the Auditorium room located at Calle 7 Nº 1267, between 58 and 59, in the city of La Plata.
It was detailed that the call has “the purpose of guaranteeing citizen participation and making known the foundations of the tariff modification proposal presented by the concessionaire.”
The presence of “your authorities and/or legal representatives is expected, in order to present the technical, financial, economic and legal foundations of your request for rate modification.”
The planned increase would be 250% to be applied in two tranches, 200% starting in May or June, and 50% starting in July or August of this year, the company explained.
The requested increase “turns out to be significantly less than what is necessary to compensate for the emerging costs of providing the service,” they clarified.
“It is necessary to carry out a tariff update, avoiding generating increases that are not sustainable or do not comply with minimum legal standards,” said the head of ABSA, Hugo Obedin the letter sent to Minister Gabriel Katopodis to request said public call for updating rates.
