On November 2, during the auction, Gazprom did not book additional transit gas capacity through Ukraine for the 1st – 3rd quarters of 2022.
On the same day, Viktor Khaikov, Chairman of the Commission on Innovative Development of the Public Council under the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, said that the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is planned in the coming months, therefore, it makes no economic sense for Gazprom to book and assume additional transit obligations gas and its payment through Ukraine, especially for long periods.
