47% of Argentines plan their purchases throughout the year

The platform Google released a study carried out by the consulting firm Ipsos in which the behavior of consumers in Argentina for the end of the year is revealed: What will they do for the holidays? Who do you buy gifts from? When and how do they buy them?

The study, carried out on the basis of 500 interviews during the month of September, revealed that at that time 63% of the Argentines consulted had planned what they would do at parties: on the one hand, 57% anticipated that they planned to stay in their home, while 6% said they would travel.

Regarding consumption, 11% said they have saved throughout the year to be able to reach this time with a remainder that allows them to make Christmas purchases, while 33% indicated that they will save money during this season for future needs, possibly Pressed by the high level of spending as a result of the price increases that have occurred in recent years.

Regarding the type of purchase that those who have a margin to spend will make, 63% of those surveyed said they will use the money to give gifts to family and close friends. On the other hand, 49% anticipated that they will buy products that they need and that they have not yet been able to purchase, 33% will do the same but with those that they must replace and 23% will make a self-gift.

Evangelina Suarez, Commercial Director for the Industry of Retail from Google Argentina, He spoke about the results of the survey and the consumption habits of Argentines for these dates. “Without a doubt, the Christmas and New Year sales are the most planned among Argentineans, as well as the events with the highest purchase intention of the year,” he said.

In addition, he announced that the study “reflects that 47% of consumers plan these purchases throughout the year” and highlighted as relevant the importance of omnichannel when buying: “This report shows us that once again the digital and physical world are combined both in the preliminary research stage and to make a purchase: in the country, searches for 70% of the products will be made online and the rest in physical stores ”.

In this sense, the study revealed that 66% of consumers will make the final purchase both online and in physical stores, while 25% will only make it in physical stores and only 8% will make it exclusively online.
