Strong business support for the May Pact called by Javier Milei

The entity that brings together the country’s main businessmen once again expressed itself positively regarding the initiatives of the current government, just as it did after the publication of the mega DNU and the general sanction of the omnibus law, on this occasion following the president’s call to the provincial leaders for May 25 in Córdoba.

“The decision to move forward with a Covenant that seeks to address issues that have hindered the development of our country for years represents a decision of great importance“, they expressed first from AEA, the association he presides Jaime Campos and in which they accompany as vice presidents Paolo Rocca (Techint), Héctor Magnetto (Grupo Clarín), Sebastián Bagó (Bagó Group) and Alfredo Coto.

The entity appreciated that the president’s call Milei to reduce spending and eliminate the deficit is also accompanied by an invitation to carry out a tax reform. In that sense, they proposed “the need to carry out a tax reform that significantly reduces the very high tax pressure on the formal sector of the economy”starting with the elimination or reduction of “distortive taxes.”

From AEA they described as “very timely” the president’s words about “the urgency of updating labor standards” to expand the amount of formal employment. And they agreed that it is “it is necessary to update pension legislation in order to make it more sustainable”. The Government is expected to send bills to Congress that review the retirement formula to advance along that line.

The business association expressed its support for what they consider to be “the will to carry out a profound transformation” in Argentina “as expressed in the different points indicated in the guidelines of the Pact.” “In this way it will be possible mobilize the energies of the private sector only way to put our country on the path of economic and social development,” they concluded.

CAME and the Cereal Exchange highlighted the invitation to the May Pact

From the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME) spoke out in support of the call for Milei to the May Pact and they considered that the 10 points of consensus “are a call to the parties involved to work seriously and responsibly.”

Furthermore, they pointed out that behind the Pact there must be “a great national agreement” and they highlighted that “the call itself is an essential initiative in this complex and difficult moment that our country is going through.”

From the Bag of Cereals from Buenos Aires expressed themselves in harmony with the proposal of Milei and they stressed that the invitation to political forces to attend Córdoba on May 25 must become “at the starting point for the construction of a new Argentina”.

“Achieving long-term policies is the way to grow, generating employment federally,” they argued from the business entity. “Córdoba we will be there,” they closed.
