Chamber of Labor (AK), Federation of Trade Unions (ÖGB), Chamber of Commerce (WK) and Federation of Industrialists (IV) rejected the possible introduction of a 2G rule yesterday, Wednesday.
“Even 3G in the workplace is very challenging for many companies, a reduction to 2G is not practical,” said WK General Secretary Karlheinz Kopf. This would not only deprive many employees of their livelihood, but companies would also have to forego urgently needed employees in times of a shortage of skilled workers.
The social partners are “reliable partners to contain the consequences of the crisis for the economy, keyword short-time work and vaccination incentives”. Ingrid Reischl, chief secretary of the ÖGB, said that 2G would “threaten the existence of those affected” because home office is not possible everywhere.
Kocher announced clear rules
IV Secretary General Christoph Neumayer spoke out in favor of “practicable rules and solutions”. It must be about “ensuring the smoothest possible day-to-day work in the company” and maintaining production.
Labor Minister Martin Kocher announced this week, as reported, that he would present “clear corona rules for the workplace” in view of the mandatory vaccination in February.
