For marketplaces to create a code of work with suppliers

The Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to follow the path of self-regulation of the marketplace market and create standards for the interaction of platforms with sellers. State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov told Izvestia about this.

According to him, the standards were based on the proposals of the Association of Internet Trade Companies (AKIT), and they will include the following points: independence of pricing on the online platform from the conditions for the participation of sellers in advertising campaigns, material liability of platforms for more frequent cases of loss and damage of goods in the process of their registration, transfer and storage at the warehouse, as well as paying closer attention to the problem of selling counterfeit and uncertified products.

In addition, it is planned to settle the issue of disposal of products in the warehouse of the marketplace, which can be carried out at the expense of the supplier, and to provide prompt feedback from the marketplaces.

At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade acknowledged that today there is a risk of the dictates of digital platforms.

“In Russia, the marketplace market is quite highly competitive. Several of the largest players – Wildberries, Ozon, Aliexpress Russia, Yandex.Market, SberMarket – form no more than 30% of the total market for such sites. At the same time, we believe that the situation cannot be aggravated, otherwise the risk of a dictate of conditions on the part of marketplaces is possible, “the department told Izvestia.

Most of the major marketplaces have supported the proposed rules for dealing with suppliers.
