To this end, State Secretary Florian Tursky and State Councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger (both ÖVP) presented a funding program: Anyone who will work for the FFG from April “Village Office” applied for, can receive up to 85,000 euros for material and material costs, software, infrastructure and personnel costs. The target group is primarily small and medium-sized companies and founders.
“With innovative co-working spaces we want to create equal opportunities in rural and urban areas”said Tursky at the presentation in Hagenberg on Tuesday.
Founders already work there in a shared office. They reported on the advantages such as mutual support with technical questions or funding applications. The resulting network is very helpful.
Up to 15 new village offices are to be opened across Austria “countryside regions” arise. These can also be cities like Freistadt or Bad Leonfelden. A total of two million euros in funding is available for two years.
“With the village offices, particularly disadvantaged rural communities have a chance to retain well-educated young people”said Langer-Weninger. Municipalities should find empty buildings for this purpose.
