Christiane Benner is the first female chairwoman at the head of IG Metall and is one of the most influential women in German business. On Equal Pay Day, she explains what it takes to close the gender pay gap.
Christiane Benner prefers to talk about other topics, not necessarily about the fact that she is the first woman to head Germany’s largest union. In the podcast “Die Boss” the metal singer talks to Simone Menne about strikes, the AfD in its own ranks and the four-day week. On Equal Pay Day, she is campaigning for equality for all genders: “I am for the women’s quota and if I should be a quota woman, then I say: So what? I stand on the shoulders of strong women and I also want to be a strong shoulder for future generations.” Here you can read excerpts from the “Die Boss” interview.
