Around 750,000 people, including many school classes and students, have visited the Steel World since it opened in 2009 and experienced innovation and technology in steel production and use up close.
With the modernization, greentec steel and digital representation of content are to be incorporated into the exhibition. The aim of the renovation is to “give the technological and innovative diversity of the voestalpine world a modern home,” said CEO Herbert Eibensteiner.

The architectural firm Atelier Brückner, based in Stuttgart, will oversee the renovation. In the past 2022/23 financial year, voestalpine achieved a consolidated profit of 1.2 billion euros on sales of 18.2 billion euros and employed around 51,200 people worldwide.
