Otto Group: This is how the mail order company became an international player

The first Otto catalog was still hand-bound and had pasted photos. The small Hamburg shoe retailer became a global trading and service group. Today it includes platforms as well as retail (e.g. Sportscheck), financial services (EOS) and service (Hermes Group).

According to its own information, the Otto Group is one of the world’s largest online retailers with recent online sales of 10.8 billion euros. It is present throughout Europe and the USA with around 41,000 employees. In the 2022/23 financial year, total sales were 16.2 billion euros.
