As part of the austerity program at Volkswagen, CEO Oliver Blume and the entire board of directors are foregoing part of their salary this year. “We will reduce our fixed salary by five percent,” said Blume at the annual press conference in Berlin.

In doing so, the board wants to contribute to the group’s efficiency program. “We think this is an important signal that we as the board of directors are also doing our part and starting with ourselves.”

In 2023, Blume, who is also Porsche boss, received a total of 8,723,605.98 euros, according to the annual report. The now declared waiver only applies to the fixed salary as VW boss of 1.3 million euros. He also received a fixed salary of 800,000 euros from Porsche. If the remuneration remained unchanged, Blume would forego 65,000 euros in 2024.
