MediaMarkt Austria gets a new boss

Jan Niclas Brandt (36) will become the new CEO of MediaMarkt Austria on April 1st and will also take over the management of MediaMarkt in Switzerland at the same time. The company announced on Thursday that the two countries should grow closer together operationally.

“It will be an exciting challenge to combine the strengths of both countries while at the same time taking into account the local characteristics and individual market and customer needs,” says Brandt. The electrical retail chain’s current Austrian boss, Alpay Güner, will move to the group’s German headquarters in Ingolstadt on April 1st. Stefan Fraude, currently CEO of MediaMarkt in Switzerland, will leave the company.
