There have been numerous strikes in Germany’s train and air traffic for weeks, with consequences for Austria. German Transport Minister Volker Wissing suggests avoiding labor disputes over Easter. “I appeal to the unions to declare an Easter peace if the collective bargaining disputes in rail and air transport are not resolved by the start of the holidays,” Wissing told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung. It is also important to meet the needs of the population. Families are not parties in the collective bargaining dispute.
In Austria, the need to travel is great, according to a YouGov survey presented on Thursday among 1,000 participants on behalf of the tour operator TUI. According to this, four out of five respondents want to travel this year. Beach holidays on the Mediterranean are very popular, and the most popular travel destination is Greece.
