Rising energy and wage costs have caused Austria’s economy to lose international competitiveness. Therefore, non-wage labor costs must now decrease, said Upper Austria’s Chamber of Commerce President Doris Hummer at the Upper Austria Chamber of Commerce’s tax day, which was held in cooperation with EY and OÖNachrichten.
Industry spokesman Erich Frommwald told speaker and Finance Minister Magnus Brunner where to start: with contributions to unemployment and accident insurance and to the family burden equalization fund. Hummer viewed the tax reform and the abolition of cold progression positively.
