The WKStA announced this yesterday, Friday.
The allegation is that Grasser did not state the commissions in his income tax return. The indictment is not final, Grasser can appeal it within the next 14 days. His lawyer Manfred Ainedter describes the allegations as “incorrect in content from our point of view”. The indictment accuses the former minister of having evaded 2.2 million euros in taxes. The penalty framework provides for a fine of up to two times this amount. A prison sentence of up to two years can also be imposed. In addition to Grasser, his tax advisor is also accused of creating a concealment structure.
Grasser is waiting for the first instance ruling from the Buwog trial to be issued. In this mammoth trial, he was not legally sentenced to eight years in prison just over a year ago.
