The National Media Group (NMG) holding and the Sberintement group of companies have created a joint venture Telesport Group LLC. It will acquire the rights to broadcast major international sporting events in Russia. This was reported on December 18 in the press service of Sberintement.
“The share of Sberintement in the authorized capital of the new company was 80%, NMG will own 20%. It is planned that the company will directly acquire the rights to major international sporting events for broadcasting in Russia, ”the press service said.
The head of Telesport Group LLC will be Petr Makarenko, the founder and owner of Telesport JSC. Together with him, his team will go into a joint venture – this will help to get the maximum effect, says Makarenko himself.
JSC Telesport has the rights to show the Olympic Games 2022 and 2024, as well as the UEFA Cups, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Rhythmic Gymnastics and Mixed Martial Arts World Championships.
“In partnership with NMG, we will be able to simultaneously satisfy the viewer’s interest in sports both in the digital environment and in the traditional format of television viewing,” the press service of Sberinterteyment noted.
NMG believes that the joint venture will make it possible to better represent international sports events on the Russian market.
