Shortly before Easter: Gasoline prices rise to an annual high

Not a good outlook for drivers: Shortly before the holidays, gasoline prices rose again. E10 is now significantly more expensive than diesel again.

For drivers of cars with gasoline engines, refueling has become more expensive for the second week in a row. Premium gasoline of the E10 variety increased in price by 2.1 cents, as the ADAC announced. On a nationwide daily average on Tuesday, a liter cost 1,811 euros. This is the highest value of the year so far in the traffic club’s weekly evaluation. Diesel, on the other hand, fell slightly by 0.6 cents to 1.730 euros per liter.

This means that the difference between fuel prices increases again. As recently as mid-February, E10 and diesel were practically the same price. Since then, petrol has increased in price and diesel has tended to become cheaper. In historical comparison, however, the current gap of just over 8 cents is still unusually low.

According to the ADAC, the price of crude oil has recently fallen slightly. In the club’s opinion, this should not only be reflected in the price of diesel, but also in the price of gasoline.
