Consumer confidence improved 1.8% in March compared to February, but accumulated a year-on-year drop of almost 4%according to an indicator released this Wednesday by the Di Tella University.

By subindexes, Macroeconomic Situation increased 7.68% monthly and Personal Situation 2.76%, but Durable Goods and Real Estate fell 18.71%.
By income level, The index increased 5.29% for lower-level households, but fell 3.50% for higher-level households.
This differential behavior was clearly observed in the sub-indices: lower-income households registered a strong rise in the Macroeconomic Situation (12.8%) and Personal Situation (6.2%) sub-indices, but for high-income households the first one was only rose 1% and the second fell 3.4%.
Durable Goods and Real Estate, the third subindex, fell monthly for both.
On the other hand, the report detailed that in March, at the national level, Consumer perceptions regarding current conditions showed a drop of 12.9% compared to Februarywhile the component that measures future expectations increased by 7.4%, always compared to the previous month.
In the year-on-year comparison of these components, a drop of 42.9% was observed in current conditions and an increase of 22.0% in future expectations.
