What will happen in 2022 with the tax?

The session called for 2 p.m. was requested on Friday by the JXC deputies, Silvia Lospennato, Cristian Ritondo, Mario Negri, Rodrigo de Loredo, Horacio García Aresca, Juan Manuel López, Carlos Gutiérrez, Enrique Estévez, José Luis Espert and Javier Milei.

This is an increase in the non-taxable minimum for Personal Assets, which will raise the amount from $ 2 million to $ 6 million. The proposal was promoted last week by JXC in the framework of the special session in which the 2022 Budget was debated, which was finally rejected by the opposition arch.

It was the first non-consensual vote of the new integration of the Chamber, where the opposition prevailed by 130 to 116 to the ruling party.

In addition to Together for Change, they voted in favor of advancing with the treatment of the project on Personal Assets the Federal interblock; United Provinces; the libertarians and Felipe Álvarez de SER from La Rioja.

This modification will allow increasing the non-taxable minimum of the tax so that a smaller number of taxpayers are included in the payment of this tax, highlighted parliamentary sources.

The bill, which has been approved by the Senate, will be debated beforehand at 1:00 p.m. in the Budget committee, chaired by Carlos Heller. The ruling party itself could accompany the project after the rejection of the 2022 Budget, although it will also seek change. One of the possibilities being considered is that from now on the tax is updated due to inflation.

When promoting the debate on this project, Lospennato recalled that “the project in question was promoted in the Senate by the ruling party Carlos Caserio and approved unanimously,” remarked the opposition deputy to substantiate her request.

From the ruling party, Germán Martínez, from Santa Fe, stated that different interpretations of the regulation could be made in relation to the articles by which the deputy proposed the location, although he could not prevent progress with the vote on the motion.

Parliamentary sources affirmed that “with those 130 wills, the opposition arch was in a position to be able to rise with a majority opinion in the Budget committee” and to be able to approve it in the plenary, in case there are no absences of some legislators.

The bill needs to be signed into law before the end of the year in order to enter into force, hence such haste.
