Fines increase to more than 0,000 for those who falsify statistical information

Through Resolution 48/2024 published this Monday in the Official bulletin, The Government established that those who falsify statistical information that they disseminate andl National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) will pay up to $782,000 in fine. This is an update of the violation amounts that were last modified during the administration of Alberto Fernández, in November 2023.

Thus, the head of Indec, Marco Lavagna, updated the amounts of the fines: took the minimum to $7,890.47 and the maximum to $782,916.22. While the maximum amount of finality was increased to the sum of $16,048.78. Until now, according to the figures that had remained from the previous administration, the minimum amount was $3,089.65, the maximum was $306,564.79 and the maximum unappealable amount was $6,284.19. The increase means an increase of one 112% increase in four months.

INDEC: when was the last update of fines

After highlighting that the last increase was on November 7, Indec considered that “it corresponds proceed to update of the minimum and maximum amounts established in Article 15 of Law No. 17,622, and in Resolution No. 286/23, for the application of fines for violation of the provision of statistical information, as well as the maximum amount of non-appealability established in Article 22 of Decree No. ° 3110/70″.

Thus it was reported that the National Directorate of Price Statistics highlighted the variations based on the Internal Wholesale Price Indices (IPIM), which is part of the Wholesale Price Index System (SIPM), that were registered from July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, and justified the highlighting of the minimum and maximum amounts for the fines issued by the agency, which can be applied to human or legal persons and public or private organizations that “they do not provide on time, falsify or produce with malicious omission” the information necessary for the statistics and censuses of the National Statistical System.
