“During the month of April we will be taking the following measures to favor agriculture: ‘reduction in herbicide tariffs and improvement in approvals of Senasa permits’, stated the Minister of Economy in his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

“Herbicides based on Atrazine, Glyphosate and 2-4-D will lower (their import tariff) from 35% to 12.6%,” he said. Caputo, adding that “We will reduce the tariff on primary Atrazine, from the current 24% to 10.8%.”

In the second half of May, The agricultural sector will begin the 2024/25 campaign, with the beginning of cereal sowing. The outlook prior to the start of implementation is one of low global prices and high production costs.
According to the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange, Argentina harvested 15.1 million tons of wheat in the 2023/24 cycle.
