The federal authorities did not support the complete rejection of migrants at the construction site. The labor shortage significantly affects the cost of construction, the office of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told Izvestia.

Refusal from migrants can increase the cost of housing by 10-40%, follows from a survey of developers across the country, conducted by the State Duma with the participation of business. According to 24% of respondents, it will never be possible to abandon foreign labor force, 28% believe that this can happen within three to five years, 47% – not earlier than in one or two years, and 1% – in five ten years. Such data are given in a study conducted by Vladimir Koshelev, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Utilities, with the support of Delovaya Rossiya (Izvestia has it).

Today it is difficult to talk about the possibility of a complete rejection of migrants, the office of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told Izvestia. Although now the key factor in the growth of the cost of housing is the pricing in the field of building materials, nevertheless, the labor shortage also significantly affects the cost of construction, the administration said.

The Ministry of Construction told Izvestia that, given the large-scale tasks facing the construction industry, the issue of importing foreign labor to Russia is still relevant.

To solve the problem, it is worth launching a federal program for training and advanced training of domestic personnel at the request of developers. The parliamentarian and Delovaya Rossiya are planning to send such an initiative to the Ministry of Construction.
