The UIA seeks to promote mining with a new technical department

With the aim of highlighting the role of mining in the productive development of the country, the Unión Industrial Argentina presented this Thursday its new technical department focused on the mining sector that will also seek to raise awareness about the potential of production chains.

During the launch, the president of the UIA, Daniel Funes from Riojaindicated that “Mining is a key actor in the future of the country” and added that “it is a great satisfaction to see the cultural change that has taken place both in societies and in rulers with respect to mining as part of the country’s productive challenge.”

The mining department of the UIA is chaired by Franco Mignaccofrom the Exar mining company, accompanied by Franco Rizzetto from Los Azules as vice president and Facundo Huidobro from Mainsfield as secretary.

Regarding the role that the new office will have, Mignacco assured that “mining activity has been growing steadily since July 2020 and is currently at an all-time high since January 2017.. “The development of mining is key to the consolidation of a federal and competitive productive network.”

The importance of mining is reflected in the numbers: in the last year alone, It reached exports of 8,000 million dollars, generated $342,000 million in tax revenue and 100,000 jobs.

From the UIA they explained that the creation of the new mining department responds to the need to accompany the growth of the sector, enhance the opportunities that it brings and encourage the development of industrial suppliers and associated services.

That is why it will be focused on investment promotion, value chains, infrastructure, professional training, and technology and innovation.
