Putin signed a law on the indexation of capital stock based on actual inflation

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which, from February 1, 2022, the indexation of maternity capital is carried out according to actual inflation, and not predicted. The document was published on the official portal of legal information.

Thus, the size of the capital will be revised annually on February 1 based on the consumer price growth index for the previous year in accordance with the indexation coefficient determined by the government of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that until February 1, 2022, the amount of maternity capital will be 483,881 rubles for the first child, 639,431 rubles for the second and subsequent children.

Previously, the size of maternity capital was revised annually taking into account the growth rate of inflation.

On October 14, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov said that the size of maternity capital in Russia for 2022 will be adjusted on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation. Indexation will be carried out on the basis of actual inflation.

On September 24, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said that the amount of maternity capital for the first child in 2024 could be 544,301 rubles, for the second – 719,274 rubles.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister said that almost 960 billion rubles will be allocated for monthly payments to families with children from three to seven years old in 2022-2024. 3 million children will receive payments annually.

On September 13, the Ministry of Labor told Izvestia that amendments to the law “On additional measures of state support for families with children” could be adopted in 2022, expanding the category of persons who can receive maternity capital.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the right of a man to state support on the occasion of the birth of a child is derived from the right of a woman and can only be exercised if it has been terminated for a woman on the grounds established by law.
