The regional water association wants to decide this Tuesday whether Elon Musk’s factory in Grünheide will be disconnected from the sewage pipe – because of excessive limit values. There is a threat of a production stop, and Tesla is now defending itself with a counter report.
The invitation initially sounded like an overdue initiative for more transparency: a few weeks ago, the US car manufacturer Tesla invited the mayors of the region to personally look around the factory premises in Grünheide, Brandenburg. Elon Musk’s company is actually known for being rather secretive. But now the need seemed great enough that the car manufacturer apparently felt compelled to launch a charm offensive. Because these mayors can decide this Tuesday whether production in Tesla’s only German factory could soon come to a standstill. According to the company, there is a risk of millions of dollars in damage every day in this case.
