Freight from Hong Kong: 7,000 counterfeit products discovered at Vienna Airport

More than 3,500 counterfeit branded sunglasses were seized.
The counterfeit products were transported in 53 boxes.

Sunglasses – supposedly from Prada or Louis Vuitton: Officials from the Austrian Customs Office managed to carry out a large-scale interception of freight traffic at Vienna Airport in March. Based on a risk analysis, they carried out a goods inspection and found what they were looking for on a large scale: in an air freight shipment from Hong Kong, they seized 53 boxes containing almost 7,000 pieces of counterfeit branded products.

The shipment was to be transported to Poland via Austria. The counterfeits included 3,691 sunglasses, 1,750 smartphone cases, 1,261 pairs of shoes, 150 charging cables and 50 headphones.
