Frankfurt Stock Exchange: Software company SAP is driving DAX recovery

After the positive start to the week, the Dax’s recovery continued on Tuesday: The leading German index gained 0.9 percent in the first minutes of trading and returned just above the 18,000 point mark. However, it is a long way from the record high of 18,567 points reached at the beginning of the month.

However, it is a long way from the record high of 18,567 points reached at the beginning of the month.

The MDax of medium-sized stocks rose by 0.8 percent to 26,504 points on Tuesday. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index for the Euroregion, also advanced by 0.8 percent.

Quarterly figures from SAP at the start of the reporting season are creating a pretty good mood. Analysts’ initial reactions were positive. Expert Michael Briest from the major Swiss bank UBS commented that the Walldorfers had overcome the quite high hurdle at the start of the year.

SAP shares had recently fallen by over eleven percent from their record high at the end of March. Now they jumped to the top of the DAX with an increase of around 5 percent.
