In a previous publication, who was president of the Central Bank during the Mauricio Macri period expressed that “Javier Milei’s deregulatory agenda continues to advance,” regarding “a couple of developments this week in flights and pharmacies, both made possible by the DNU 70-23”.
Agreements in airspace
Sturzenegger expanded on the open skies treaty signed by Foreign Minister Diana Mondino with Chile, explaining that previously – after mentioning Marcelo T. de Alvear’s authorization in 1924 for a French company to operate local flights – ”military thinking prevailed and airspace was closed to foreign companies”.
”This changed just this week when Foreign Minister @DianaMondino signed an open skies treaty with Chile. Thus, 100 years after that first authorization from Alvear, foreign companies will be able to provide air services in the country again,” he explained.
From the Ministry of Transportation launched a statement about the meeting held by the chancellor Diana Mondino and the Argentine ambassador in Chile, Jorge Fauriein it San Martin Palacewith the main transportation authorities of Chile: ”A memorandum of understanding to advance measures that enhance the air sector and international connectivity. The initiative will expand the panorama to the entire region and position Argentina as a possible recipient of new airline companies. At the same time, The market opens even more for Argentine airlines in the neighboring country”.
Thus, they detailed that ”with the strategic vision of linking joint measures with other countries and allowing greater liberalization of flights, the Secretary of Transportation of the Nation Franco Mogetta signed a memorandum of understanding with Martín MackennaSecretary of the Chilean Aeronautical Authority.
And they added that ”the document aims to address issues of mutual interest in air services, with immediate and definitive effects.
Another agreement was in relation to the air serviceswhich “will govern provisionally, subject to their respective constitutional procedures and the confirmation of certain non-aeronautical clauses by specific competition agencies such as the Central Bank and Customs, among others.”
