Stock exchange in Frankfurt: DAX gains slightly

The Dax has stabilized after slipping below the 18,000 point mark again on Friday. The leading German index rose by 0.59 percent to 18,023.68 points in early trading. This means that after three weeks of losses in a row, there are signs of a weekly plus again. The MDax of medium-sized stocks gained 0.88 percent to 26,273.52 points on Friday. In general, there were also signs of recovery at the end of the week. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index of the euro zone, rose by 0.6 percent.

Positive impulses came from the USA, where the technology companies Alphabet and Microsoft had calmed things down with their business figures. When it comes to German individual stocks, the emerging solution for Thyssenkrupp’s weakening steel division is the topic of the day. After months of negotiations, the company agreed to join the company with Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky. Thyssenkrupp shares shot up 10.7 percent, making them by far the biggest winner in the MDax.
